Shaikh Salman Bin Mohammed Al Khalifa
With over 18 years of professional experiences in the IT field and behind the execution of the Government Data Network project which resulted in linking all of Bahrain’s ministries together, Shaikh Salman headed the country’s Smart Card Initiative project that developed and deployed the national ID card. Moreover, he supported in one of the most significant strategic projects by accomplishing the IT shared services amongst several critical government organizations – enabling the eGovernment program to deliver online services via the National Portal. In addition to connecting and building systems as well as improve integration between
government organizations.
The Suffolk University (in Boston Massachusetts) graduate with a Double Major in Accounting & Information Technology had set-up the Kingdom’s IT infrastructure during his post at the Royal Court together with the establishment of the Government CERT throughout his career at the Central Informatics Organization.
The Acting Vice Chief Executive also established the government’s Cloud First Policy - the
foundation for the integration project in government entities - and is currently leading the
government of Bahrain’s technical team in the migration of government’s IT services to the
Amazon Web Services Cloud.
